Ki-Mochi Café: Indulge in Late-Night Ice Cream and Mochi Waffles in AMK

Ki-mochi AMK

If you’re on the hunt for a new dessert spot in Ang Mo Kio that’s open late, look no further than Ki-Mochi, the latest addition to the neighborhood's vibrant food scene. Nestled in the heart of AMK, this charming ice cream café has quickly become a must-visit destination for dessert lovers, offering a delightful fusion of flavors and textures that will leave you craving more. Whether you’re out late on a Friday or Saturday, or just looking for a sweet treat after dinner, Ki-Mochi got you covered.

What sets Ki-Mochi apart from other ice cream cafes in Singapore is its innovative take on classic treats. While ice cream cafés are nothing new, Ki-Mochi elevates the experience by pairing its creamy ice cream with freshly made mochi waffles and mochi pancakes. These mochi-based delights offer a unique chewiness that perfectly complements the smooth and rich flavors of their ice creams.

ice-cream flavours

Ki-mochi offered 10 flavours, featuring classic favorites like cookies-and-cream, alongside more adventurous options such as osmanthus oolong and ondeh ondeh (Menu). For those who want to go all out on mochi-goodness, opt for the muah chee flavour! The friendly staff went above and beyond, offering me samples to help with my decision. I opted to try the osmanthus oolong and I really like the taste of tea with subtle floral notes. Thus I ordered one scoop of osmanthus oolong along with a scoop of honey & milk.

Mochi pancake with ice cream

To pair with the ice-cream, I ordered their Signature Mochi pancakes but they also offer Mochi Waffles for those in #Teamwaffles. The stretchy pancakes were served warm and the texture reminded me of pan-fried mochi. (Check out their IG post for the stretch) Some syrup and kinako powder have been added to the top of the pancakes as they do not have much taste themselves. The scoop of honey & milk ice cream had a caramel-like taste, but when paired with the pancakes and syrup, it became slightly too sweet for my liking. Luckily, the osmanthus oolong ice cream helped to balance out the sweetness.

Overall, I really enjoyed my sweet treat at the charming cafe. The warm, inviting lighting creates a cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a late-night chat with friends. However, do note that there are limited seating available at the shop so do be prepared for a short wait.
